Mark knows how to take you places.

I’m really into communicating. I’m also really into travel, tourism, hospitality and the meetings and incentive industries. Based in New York City, I have about 20 years of experience as a journalist, editor, content producer and public speaker. Always on the lookout for new and exciting travel experiences, I’m also the founder and editor of LatinFlyer.com, a website focusing on travel in Latin America.

I’ve written for Fodor’s travel guides and the New York Times bestseller 1,000 Places To See Before You Die, and also contributed to media outlets including Caribbean Travel + Life, Global TravelerThe Huffington Post, Latin Trade Magazine, Meetings & Conventions, the Miami Herald, Passport Magazine, Travel + Leisure Mexico, TravelAge West and Travel Weekly. For three years, I managed Latin Trade‘s annual Best of Travel Awards, and I also served two stints as a managing editor for American Express Custom Publishing. And I currently write a monthly column about travel to Mexico for TravelAge West, the leading travel trade publication and site in the western United States, and a monthly column about LGBT travel trends for Global Traveler, the leading upscale business travel magazine.

I also work with a lot of travel industry clients to help them get their message out effectively and build business with both consumers and travel agents. I’ve written and managed custom content for clients including Aerolíneas Argentinas, the Costa Rica Tourism Board, the Mexico Tourism Board, Turismo Chile, the U.S. Travel Association, Visit Kansas City, the World Travel & Tourism Council and hotel brands including Hilton and IHG.

A big part of keeping people informed and inspired — as well as communicating for clients — includes public speaking and hosting. I’m pretty good at that too. I’ve spoken at and/or moderated panels and made presentations at a variety of big events, including the New York Travel Festival, New York Times Travel Show, SAHIC: The South American Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference and ASTA Global, and LOVE Mexico, which highlights the growing international romance market. I also write and host webinars for a variety of clients, including Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Casa de Campo and CrowdCompass — as well as voiceovers for additional clients. I guess you could say I aim to be a multimedia service provider!
